Romania and Bulgaria are A2 countries and they joined the EU on 1 January 2007

Hi guys, hope you can help me with a Bulgarian migrant who has just arrived in the Falkirk area. The chap doesn't have a job as yet but a actively looking for work.
Is he entitled to benefits and how does he go about getting a workers registration?

The answer to your question is NO the Bulgarian migrant is not entitled to any automatic benefits.
Secondly a Bulgarian passport holders entitlement to automaticly live and work in the United Kingdom is not as simple as it is for let's say Polish migrants.
Although Bulgarian migrants have free movement etc around the UK they really have to meet a strict criteria to live and work in the UK. I suggest you contact our office so that we can help go through this individuals application so as to avoid any delays and complications.
