Just a quick reminder to service providers re Lithuanians in the Falkirk area.
You may already know this but Lithuanians fall into four language categories.
The catergories are:
Lithuanian speaking: 65% with many speaking broken Russian and/or Polish
Russian speaking 30% with many speaking broken Lithuanian and/or Polish
Polish speaking 3% with many speaking broken Russian and/or Lithuanian
Gypsy Russian/Lith dialect 2% a very difficult language to find interpreters for.
and ofcourse a small number speak atleast two or even 3 of the above very fluently.
Then you have the problem,,,just beacuse they can speak the languages it does not mean they can read and understand the languages fully and properly and some not at all.
many service providers have been caught out with these problems and this has lead to frustration and delays.
Our advice is: Clarify exactly which language the Lithuanian client communicates in before booking Interpreters.
