You know nobody actually knows howmany migrants there are in the Falkirk council area.
The only thing that gives us any clues is basically the worker registration schemes, benefits claimants and school records.
However the worker registration figures are not correct as they do no take into account the workers families and in some cases exended families.
Also there are many eu migrants who have not registered.
Our figures are and I must stress they are just an estimate. there are around 6,000-8,500 eu migrants living in the Falkirk council area.
Not necessarily working..but living here. this also includes children that have been born here recently.
The polish community now makes up the largest ethnic community living in the Falkirk area atleast 5,000. Previously it was pakistani around 3,000.
We continue our research but as the migrants are often moving around from address to address it is very difficult to collate the figures accuratley.
